The studio
drawn by pen is a generative drawing studio in Barcelona. Everything you see here comes out of the same process: our own code, a pen plotter and quality paper. There are no prints: every work is drawn with a real pen, line by line, and leaves the machine one of a kind.
The tools
Many works have been made with DBP Lab, a creative-coding tool open to anyone at lab.drawnbypen.com. The machine is a pen plotter that holds pigment-ink fineliners, pens or ballpoints and moves them over the paper exactly as the file defines.
