City at night
A motorway entering the city at night, lights out of focus, turned into thousands of diagonal lines that swell and thin with the light of the photograph. Four inks: cyan, magenta, orange and black.

About this work
The starting point is a photograph: the skyscrapers and the road of a city at night, lights out of focus. The program separates it into four colour layers, cyan, magenta, orange and black, and runs each one with parallel diagonal lines whose oscillation depends on the brightness of the image: in dark areas the line closes up and fills with ink; in the lights it opens until it almost disappears.
Up close there are only lines; from a couple of metres away the city appears. Four 0.4 mm Rotring Fineliner pens, four passes over the same Canson Graduate 180 g paper.
