About this work
Every horizontal line crosses the paper from edge to edge without lifting. The program reads the brightness of the original photograph and turns darkness into wave amplitude and frequency: over the white background the line is almost straight; in the hair, the T-shirt or the cat’s shadow it vibrates until it covers the paper with ink.
A single black pen and a single continuous path per line. The portrait appears as you step back, like a halftone engraving.
